The Prince Alfred, a traditional old London boozer and a favourite with locals in Maida Vale since 1856, is located just minutes from the picturesque canals of Little Venice. Steeped in history, this beautiful pub mixes a classic Victorian interior with more modern fixtures and fittings – giving a real eclectic twist.

During a recent refurbishment, an old Salamander ceiling design needed replicating – 207 panels, each 2ft square to be precise!

Lincrusta’s restoration kit was used for the job, and Lincrusta expert restorer Mike Wilson, ably assisted by Mark Taylor, took 6 weeks to replicate the panels and a further 5 weeks to install and dress them on site.

The finished result is spectacular, keeping a little bit of London’s famous pub history in tact!
