Renovation Nation

Category: As Seen In

Recently we were super excited to feature not once, not twice, but three times on Channel 4’s Renovation Nation. A key element of our sustainable story is that Lincrusta has longevity and can be re-imagined should you tire of your colour scheme. But it doesn’t stop there. If you still have an historic Lincrusta in your property; a wallcovering which has itself stood the test of time, but your building has fallen prey to water ingress or other such horrors, then fear not – we have developed a kit to restore your treasured Lincrusta. Not only that, but we also have fabulous, trained restorers who can lovingly carry out the work for you.

Episode 6 of series 2 of Renovation Nation, follows the fortunes of Joanne and Geoff, owners of Greystondale Mansion in Northumberland, who enlisted the help of George Bogovic, Lincrusta restorer, who consulted and advised on how to return the damaged ceiling back to its former glory. Then using the Lincrusta restoration kit, he took an impression of the pattern, and used the mould to recreate panels of the pattern in his workshop, to be seamlessly integrated into the existing Lincrusta.

To complete the look, George proposed our ‘Passeri’. Tentative at first because of perceived scale, the homeowners were delighted how it enveloped the room in their choice of soft pink hue, to create a beautifully grand yet warmly welcoming reception room.

Then to our surprise and delight in Helston, Cornwall, Sophie and Colin, took it upon themselves in to add period charm back to their ‘Listed Townhouse’. A four floor, 4-bedroom Georgian beauty dating back to 1775 and owned by the Godolphin family (of mining and parliamentarian heritage). Their journey showed how with a Lincrusta frieze you can effectively add architectural features back into a room…. as long as you follow our instructions and make sure you check the website to see which way up the pattern goes! Congrats to them both on a stunning transformation.

The program then revisited Ben and Paul at the Country House Diaries.  A fabulous project undertaken by Frank Holmes in Series 1, which saw the renovation of two existing Lincrusta wallcoverings: Italian Renaissance and Adam Frieze.  Although the focus was on the final finishing touches of this project, we can’t help getting excited every time the camera sweeps through the entrance hall and stairway.
